Training Project Management
We have the skills to manage the training project from conception to delivery.
Our team will assess training needs; plan training schedules to coincide with any new software installations; co-ordinate trainers; prepare courseware; track progress; analyse post course assessments and prepare customer reports. For a consistent approach, our training team would be briefed at familiarisation workshops on the corporate desktop and project objectives.
Floor-walking and desk-side coaching
We can provide Trainers from the Training team to act as floorwalkers, providing on the spot assistance in the days immediately following training.
Desk-side support can supplement and endorse the training that has already been given, and gives confidence to the delegates to use the new skills that they have learnt.
Training and course notes for bespoke software
We can develop and deliver training courses for customers' bespoke applications or customise standard courses to suit any special requirements. For example, on delivery of specialised Lotus Notes application from a customer, we developed a course and produced courseware to cover the customer's special requirements. We then delivered the training to various customer sites
throughout the UK and some European countries.
Another customer developed an Excel application. We were asked to tailor our Introduction/Intermediate Excel courseware to provide a one day course to encompass the skill areas required for the staff to be able to use the new application confidently.
Consultancy
We offer various types of consultancy - from development of databases to writing of macros for word processors or spreadsheets. We have a widespread range of knowledge and expertise in many areas, producing quality deliverables.
Macro writing and conversion
Our consultant trainers have a great deal of experience in this area - for example, writing macros in Excel to build a time sheet system; converting spreadsheets from 1-2-3 to Excel and adding in Excel functionality to produce a more efficient system. A recent project has been to convert documents and templates from Lotus SmartSuite to Microsoft Office XP, adding functionality as required.
Database development
We have assisted delegates in developing databases in Access where their skills and knowledge have been limited. Often workshops are run after the database has been developed, to enhance the delegates' skills so they can support their own system.
Template design and automation
In today's competitive market, it is important for companies to convey the right image to its customers and associates and producing professional documentation can enhance that image. Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office and its programming language enables the Training Centre's development team to design and produce powerful applications customised to suit your requirements. Automation of your templates and reports eliminates inaccuracies, ensures consistency and can save time and money.
From standard letters and memos that incorporate the company styles and logos to complex documents that rely on controlled entries, we are able to produce a solution for your business needs.
Many of our corporate customers have vast numbers of standard letters and other documents. We have completed several large projects for developing new corporate templates, and automating them, so that they are user friendly. One large city bank now has a library of three hundred standard templates on its main server. Consequently, all users' documentation conforms to the corporate look and feel. It also has an added advantage of accuracy and timesaving in the workplace, as word processor operators are not spending time creating new templates and documents.
Training needs analysis
This allows us to deliver the right training at the right level at the right time. This can be done either by the completion of a standard questionnaire or through interview. Requirements can then be assessed and the courses scheduled accordingly
Alternatively, after research into the challenge of identifying the user's needs as well as providing the most appropriate solution we have developed FOCUS - a system whereby the end user completes a form enabling them to identify their own training needs and to justify why they need that training.
