Microsoft Dynamics NAV
Many solutions provided by ADA are based on the award-winning Microsoft Dynamics NAV software. This easy to use system is in worldwide use by thousands of companies, including numerous household names.
The core modules of the Microsoft Dynamics NAV solution include:
- General Ledger
- Cash Manager
- Sales & Receivables
- Purchases and Payables
- Relationship Management
- Service Management
- Inventory
- Warehouse Management
- Resources
- Jobs
- Human Resources
- Fixed Assets
- Manufacturing
- Supply / Capacity planning
- User Portal
- Commerce Gateway & Commerce Portal
The system and application functionality is divided into many small units called granules. This unique design offers great flexibility, as a customer can purchase precisely the functions needed, and add more components as and when required.
The functionality of the base system is further enhanced by the addition of any required customisation, and by add-on functionality, either from ADA's existing library of modules and granules, or developed to the customer's specification.
ADA carries out all Dynamics NAV-based projects using a methodology which covers the whole project life cycle from inception to post implementation support. At each stage the emphasis is on providing a 'business solution' which meets customers requirements rather than a 'package fit'.
Methodology
Our tried and tested methodology ensures that the project life cycle is clearly set out, and that the customer has a full understanding from the outset as to how the project will progress. It gives clear milestones throughout the project.
Business Analysis Phase
Before ADA embarks on a detailed analysis of your system requirements we conduct a 'diagnostic' or high level analysis of your business. Through this Business Analysis process we ensure that we have a clear understanding of your business and that we are truly able to meet your requirements before we seek to define solutions.
Objective
To investigate and document:
- Our understanding of your current and future business information requirements
- Consideration of the available software, hardware and communication technologies appropriate to your requirements
- Our mutual definition of the scope of the project
- Define the way forward
Design & Implementation Phase
Analysis & Scope of Work
ADA consultants will conduct a complete review of your business information needs and will fully document the key business processes that will form part of the new system. This phase will be conducted very closely with your company representatives who would normally be expected to 'sign off' this document before proceeding to any future phase.
Other areas covered in the scope of work will include:
- New screen and report formats
- Data migration and system integration plan
- System test and acceptance plan
- Detailed implementation plan
- Confirmation of Fees and Costs
Development and Testing
With our ISO compliant methodology, our processes ensure that the implementation process is fully monitored allowing our customers to fully test software as each build is completed.
This staged delivery of software promotes user familiarity and confidence in the solution and greatly assists in the later implementation of the full business solution.
Deployment
This phase indicates the full implementation of the proposed business system and finalisation of a range of key activities, for example:
- Deployment of all software
- Set up of all system components
- Data conversion and set up completed
- System interfaces fully functional
- User training finalised
On-Going Operation
ADA is able to provide a range of services, from first line telephone support to ongoing consultancy, to ensure the continued efficient and smooth running of your systems. As part of our service we consider it beneficial to conduct a formal post implementation review with our customers to assure that the stated objectives of the system are being achieved. This also provides a forum for discussion of possible future developments as the possibilities offered by the new system become apparent to users.
