ADA leads discussion on IT Managed Services

September 2008

ADA’s position as an innovator in the IT Managed Services arena was reinforced this month when Lee Ganly, Chief Information Officer at ADA, was invited by leading IT magazine ‘Microscope’ to comment on the evolving world of added value IT services.

The Microscope article, written by leading technology journalist Cath Everett, discussed the changing face of IT Managed Services in the aftermath of recent financial troubles.  As Everett points out “one of the attractions of the managed service approach at the moment is that many customers are trying to avoid high capital expenditure as a result of the credit crunch and are instead trying to move investment onto their operational budgets.”

Scaleable ‘pay monthly’ managed service contracts have been a core component of ADA’s value proposition for several years now, based on a wide portfolio of value added solutions including intelligent security, 24-7 support, fully hosted ‘Software as a Service’ (SaaS) applications and multi-site disaster recovery.

Lee Ganly, ADA’s Chief Information Officer explained “we have seen increased interest over the past year in fully managed IT services, especially from within professional services organisations such as law firms and accountancy practices, who already understand the importance of DR and updating their IT infrastructure. Payment by subscription enables them to take the lumps out of payment schedules by making payments consistent over time".
